Ayurveda is the science of life. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the physical and subtle universe. It is a system of holistic health care that aims to create balance and healing on physical, mental and spiritual levels. It's intention is to allow each person a long healthly lifetime in order to fulfill their highest spiritual potential and merge with the Divine.
In Ayurvedic Medicine we learn about; the Chakras, energy centers that govern consciousness, the Nadis, energetic pathways that carry information & energy throughout the physical and subtle bodies, and the Vayus & Prana, how pranic energy (life-force energy) moves through us.
Ayurvedic Medicine teaches how Pranic life-force energy moves through the Nadis. The five Vayus carry the energy and indicate the direction the energy moves in. When the Vayus are in balance, this creates health and wellness in the body, mind and spirit.
Sacred Movement Ritual™ is based on this wisdom and teaches how to move spiritually charged Pranic energy through all levels. Using the Vayus or subtle movements within the body and through the Nadis, we can regulate or balance the chakra system, the nadi system and the vayus themselves. This in turn balances the bodily functions and doshas, the movement of the mind and the wellness of the spirit. A similar approach in seen in Chi Gung where Chi energy is directed intentionally, through the meridians and body systems, for health and wellness.
The Five Vayus ~ Winds of the Body
There are five Vayus (airs, winds or movements) are prana, samana, vyana, udana and apana.
Pranic energy moves through the body and throughout each cell with the help of the Vayus. Healthy movement of our pranic energy spins the chakras, cleanses the nadis, which in turn balances the doshas, creating health in body, mind, spirit. The Vayus are in all cells and are also found throughout each movement in the Sacred Movement Ritual™.
